Growing up in Hull has to be the best experience any kid in the world can have. Emma loved the beach, frostbite ice cream shop and spending time with friends. I enjoy so many of these things that Emma loved about summers in Hull. I love spending the day at Gunrock, jumping from the gully, then going to jump off of the pier, to working summer nights at the boardwalk scooping ice cream, or cutting fish at Jakes. I love going out on the boat right from steamboat wharf with all my friends. One of my favorite things I think about is going to college next year and bringing my new friends back to Hull to show off what it's like to be a Hull kid. We have more than anyone could ever have. I think about bringing them to Hull and as we pull in on the boulevard I imagine them being able to experience the smell of Nantasket. My friends are able to read Nantasket in huge orange letters letting them know they are entering my favorite place. I think about them getting to my house and being able to experience my favorite view from my kitchen. I will show them how lucky we are to see the waves crash and all the people baking in the sun. Once we settle in instead of driving anywhere we are lucky enough to walk right to the beach. Gunrock is my favorite. This is where I would show them first. I like Gunrock because you can choose to tan, swim, or if its high tide jumps off of the gully. The gully is one of my favorite things. We are so lucky to be able to have rocks to jump off of in the summer. It is like we are somewhere tropical. While we soak in the sun introducing them to all the other Hull kids that pack the beach during the day I would order Nannies pizza, my favorite in town. As we sit there all day until the sun starts to set I would start to walk home with them. As we walk past the strip I would show them “Paragon Boardwalk”, which always offers a good time. I would order my usual a vanilla soft serve with a crunch coat. I would show them the virtual reality machine inside the arcade. Once we were done eating junk food and playing games we would continue to walk back to my house. I would then bring them to the outdoor shower. There is nothing better than getting off of Nantasket and using the outdoor shower. We would then get ready to go get dinner at Jakes or Schooners. There isn't a better restaurant than these two because they both have seafood which I love. I would then share one of the best pastimes of being a Hull kid by driving to the “gut” jamming out to music. There isn't a better feeling than sitting at Hull Gut with your best friends listening to music on a summer night. The next day my friends would be leaving, so I would make them run up coast guard hill with me. A feeling you can never forget. Although it is painful at the moment, I love it after because it makes you feel good about yourself and brings you a fresh start to your summer day. After a hard workout, I would head over to Shipwrecked for french toast and sausages. A perfect end to show my new friends my favorite parts of Hull that make me who I am today and why a summer in Hull is so special. I'm sure my friends will see why Emma and all the other Hull kids have loved growing up in Hull.
